The county’s mental health and learning disability NHS Trust is inviting people to come along and find out how it’s making improvements to local services at its Annual Public Meeting later this month.
Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) will once again open up the doors of its Learning and Development Centre, in Sleaford, on Thursday 14th September, and members of the public are welcome to attend this free showcase event.
The event aims to bring the local community together and will highlight the variety of mental health and learning disability services available to families living in Lincolnshire and the surrounding areas.
This year’s theme is continuous quality improvement and there will be lots of information about what the Trust has done to improve their rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’ in 2017. As well as what more it has planned to improve and transform services.
There will be presentations on how the Trust will be looking to care for more patients closer to home and change the way it supports people with mental health problems, dementia and learning disabilities in the community.
There will also be exhibition stands showcasing some of the innovations and developments teams have been working on, as well as groups and projects in the local community who can support people with their own mental wellbeing thanks to funding through the mental health promotion fund.
LPFT’s Chair, Paul Devlin said,
“Following the Trust’s Good rating received from the CQC earlier this year, we are staying focussed on transforming and improving services. There are numerous innovative projects that our teams have been working on throughout the year and the Annual Public Meeting is a great forum for showcasing the developments taking place.”
As part of the formal proceedings, people will have the opportunity to hear from LPFT Chief Executive, Dr John Brewin, who will speak about the Trust’s performance over the past year as well as addressing the challenges of the future.
Other senior leaders will present the Trust’s Annual Report and Accounts for the period, after which members of the public will be invited to put questions to the Board of Directors.
The event will also feature the annual Members’ Meeting which will include an update on Trust Governor activities from the past year.
The full address for the meeting is Learning & Development Centre, Unit 3, The Reservation, East Road, Sleaford, NG34 7BY. Doors open at 12:30pm, with the presentations and formal meeting starting at 1.30pm.
