I am a carer for a friend and he had a sudden COPD attack on Friday 9th Oct at about 4.30pm. He was struggling to breath so I phoned 999 and paramedic was here within a few minutes. he worked hard to stabilise him and eventually decided he should go into hospital. The ambulance arrived with paramedics . They took him to the Pilgrim where he received immediate care in A & E. The staff in A & E were brilliant and we would like to thank them. My friend was stabilised and moved to AMU, then to 5A where all the staff were very good and he was allowed to come home on the 12th Oct.

EMAS / A&E
My husband took ill late in night and I thought it was a heart attack. I called 999 and spoke to the service who kept me calm whilst reassuring me. Excellent service. Paramedic arrived in a car first and not long after and ambulance crew arrived. My husband was well looked after and had to be transferred to hospital. The paramedic in the car gave me a lift to hospital.
Arrived at A&E Pilgrim within 40 minutes from my phone call.

I dialed 999 for Ambulance Service and was put straight through. A female took the details and said an ambulance would be there as soon as possible. I put the phone down and as I walked into the other room the ambulance people were at our front door. Excellent service.

Wonderful service, the ambulance was here while my wife was still on the phone. Very good attention and I couldn't fault it.

My husband has had to call ambulance 3 times over the last few years.
The response time has been very good and very professional and caring service given.
Thanks

Ambulance came quickly on Saturday night, lucky was already in Gainsborough. Very helpful staff, treated at home and didn't need to go to hospital. Ambulance very good and recommended what needed to be done ref. getting more help with mobility in the home. Advised not to ring 111, but ring 999 if anything else happened. Advised that 111 is good service, but have to give so many details before get directed to ambulance.

My husband had cause to use the service in July - good response time, good caring service
(in Lincs)

I had cause to use it in Derbys whilst on holiday - once again very satisfactory in every way.

On the 13th September 2015 I had sudden pain down the back of my neck and across my shoulders. As the pain got worse I decided to phone 111 and after giving all my details an ambulance with 2 paramedics, Brian and Geoff, arrived within. 10 mins. They did a thorough check and everything registered A1. They were about to leave and I decided to stand up and I lost all feeling in my legs and slumped. If the paramedics had not been there to prevent me hitting the floor it could have been very serious. They decided I should go to the Pilgrim and because I could not help in any way they had difficulty getting me on to the wheelchair to get me into the ambulance and then on to the stretcher. We arrived at the hospital a few minutes later and the feeling began to come back in my legs. A & E was very busy but I was seen within a few minutes by a nurse and a doctor and all checks again showed no abnormalities. As I waited to see another doctor Paramedic Geoff came by to see how I was. That is dedication!

My father in law has been extemely poorly having been admitted to Pilgrim Hoospital, Boston 5 times in 2 months. The care he received from the paramedics was fantastic, the first responder was always there within 5 minutes of the 999 call. They are a very professinal caring team of workers.
Words cannot be expressed how wonderful they were.
Polite., kind., professional., were well aware of medical symptoms., polite - 100%

First responders arrived very quickly,we were kept informed of how far away the ambulance was and a detailed efficient handover took place by first responder to paramedic.

5/5

Patient very happy with the service received

Thankfully I have only used the ambulance service twice. Caring compassionate staff who go above and beyond.

5/5

Having had to use the service more than 3 times. I can vouch for the professionalism of the staff. Excellent!

When one of my horses badly kicked me on the most foggiest day in February 2014 I had 2 female paramedics attend, all I know is they were based at Skegness but happened to have finished a job at Boston and took the call for me. They were brilliant, they even cared enough to come back and see me twice while I remained on A & E waiting to be admitted, I have wanted to track them down since then to thank them but wasn't able to in the following weeks and then just haven't pursued since.

I have called the ambulance three or four times. The paramedics could not have treated me any better, they were absolutely wonderful each time.

5/5

I have only used the ambulance service once approximately 2 years ago and could not fault the time it took to arrive or the 2 person team - excellent. However, I am very close to a hospital and was probably very fortunate not have have to wait a long time but if these services continue to be centralised expecially over large counties such as Linolnshire there be some people having to wait for unacceptable times.

Taken to Kingsmill, unable to get in Newark

As a Manager of a Care Home I have used both the EMAS and NRS Ambulance Services and I cannot fault the Teams I have had contact with They are all top notch in my book and I cannot thank them enough for the care and attention they give my Residents.

It is difficult to see how the Ambulance #service can meet responce times when:- 1. The Government reduced funding to County councils, who then as a result had to close County Council Nursing Homes, which directly resulted in BED Blocking, which now means Ambulances are queuing up at A&E because there are no beds in the Hospital and A&E is full of patients waiting for a ward to be allocated to them . Crazy or what!! very silly------I have 2 friends who were in hospital and realised that they were bed blocking. They wanted desperately to move to a nursing home but when we rang all nursing homes were full with waiting lists as long as your arm!! The Government is to blame for this fiasco. Paul Mabbott

Excellent service by caring people .

When my partner was giving birth to my son, the paramedics took so long to arrive. They took 40 minutes to arrive, she had already given birth once they had arrived

4/5

Varied response times, usually good however. Did do formal complaint two years ago regarding a one hour and ten minute wait for a 999 ambulance ordered by a doctor at her practice when she was no longer able to treat an acute asthma attack on my daughter. One occasion when 999 called by my daughter less than a year ago, she said she had in the past deteriorated very quickly on these occasions and they left the choice of A&E to her. Then consulted me, her mother to see if I thought she needed hospital. Stated they were on the scene, I was twenty miles away!! They left her and she was admitted very quickly to Grantham from Sleaford, an hour later after another 999 call and another team attending. I questioned the paramedics judgement at the time.
However generally we have had good service when she has been grateful for the care and treatment.

My husband had a stroke on the 23/7/15 the paramedics were with us in 10 - 15 mins but had to wait 1 and 3/4 hours for the ambulance to arrive

3/5

Wonderful staff....shame we have to wait hours for them to arrive, and disgusting how much pressure decisions have put on these poor people

3/5

Transfer Louth to Lincoln Hospital
Ambulance transfer took ages to arrange due to non 'blue light' priority. No updates from ambulance services. Priority eventually upgraded.

2/5

Excellent staff totally under-resourced. August in a busy seaside resort; waited hours for an ambulance and then a fire engine arrived. Several paramedics had casually driven by in the meantime. Casualty condition worsened and eventually ambulance came.

disgraceful attitude of ambulance staff member

1/5

The controllers attitude was rude and uncaring, I was told "Listen to me" I was hoping she would listen to me as I was extremely worried about my husband.

My husband is type 1 diabetic & renal transplant patient on Sunday 12 April 2015 I dialed 999 put through to ambulance controler, I was told to take my husband to A/E even though he was vomiting, Tempreture, Shaking, Rapidly rising and falling Blood sugar level as my husband has poor eye sight and heart problems it was very difficult to get him to A/E
As a result my husband was put on iv fluids
