Volunteering - it’s the Word! (July)

Look to volunteer over the summer

Long sunny days, holidays and time outside – all weather permitting in the UK!  What a great time to think about how we spend our free time.

Volunteering is a win win, giving back to your community not only benefits others, but studies show that regular volunteering benefits your health and wellbeing in many ways, including feeling less isolated, improved self-esteem and increased self-confidence.

Volunteering also helps to counteract anxiety, stress and anger. What’s not to love about that? 80% of volunteers say they are likely to continue volunteering with their main organisation in the next 12 months (NCVO Time Well Spent January 2019), which goes to show that people really do enjoy what they do and feel good about helping others.

Whatever you give, organisations value your time as much as you do – so why not become part of the great volunteering movement in the UK and around the world – you’ll be made to feel right at home!
