Celebrating ten years of people speaking up to make care better

Local health and care champion, Healthwatch Lincolnshire marks the difference the public have made to improve NHS and social care services.

In 2013, Healthwatch Lincolnshire was launched with one simple aim, to make sure NHS leaders and other decision-makers hear the care experiences of people in Lincolnshire and use your feedback to improve support. Healthwatch Lincolnshire also helps people to find reliable and trustworthy information and advice.

Over the last decade, over 1 million people have shared their stories, good and bad, with Healthwatch Lincolnshire, telling us what's working and what isn't regarding health and social care. With the help of local people, Healthwatch Lincolnshire has been able to help improve health and social care services in Lincolnshire.

Thanks for being our Healthwatch Hero

The health and social care landscape has changed a lot in ten years, but thanks to you taking the time to share your story with Healthwatch Lincolnshire we've been able to champion your voice to help improve care.

You've taken the time to share your experiences, good and bad, and asked that we do something to address the barriers to access you've faced.

With your voice as our guide, Healthwatch Lincolnshire has….

  1. Raised public concerns about how the NHS collects and uses patient data.
  2. Called for an urgent response to hospital waiting lists, and better interim communication.
  3. Warned that improvements to NHS dentistry are too slow, leaving thousands in pain.
  4. Campaigned for everyone to be given healthcare information in a way they understand.
  5. Given Lincolnshire residents a voice in important Health and Care strategy work.
  6. Provided thousands of people with helpful information and advice.
  7. Has ensured that the local voice has a seat at some of the key strategic bodies in the county
  8. Has facilitated opportunities for local health Trusts to shape their future priorities as a result of the Lincolnshire voice

We couldn't have achieved any of this without you, our Healthwatch Hero, so we want to thank you.

Together, we're making health and social care better for everyone.
