CQC Digital Inclusion Report 2023

What prevents people from accessing digital services and sharing their experiences of care with the Care Quality Commission (CQC)?

In April to June 2023, HWLincs with support of Healthwatch Lincolnshire successfully completed public engagement for the Care Quality Commission (CQC).  The final report of our findings submitted to CQC was very well received as Ellen Fernandez from their Public Engagement and Insight team shared the following with us “Thank you so much for the excellent report looking at digital inclusion.  It’s already feeding into a number of projects and different workstreams across CQC.  It’s been a pleasure to work with the team on this project”.

The focus of this engagement was to gather insight from people or specific community groups who maybe digitally excluded from raising concerns/providing feedback on services to CQC. CQC were particularly interested in the following:

  • Learning what might stop people who are digitally excluded from sharing their experiences of care with CQC.
  • If they share experiences of care.  Who do they share them with and how?
  • Hearing about the expectations people have when they feedback/raising concerns to CQC
  • How can CQC help enable them to share their experiences with us?
  • How CQC can feedback to them if they are digitally excluded.
  • Are they aware of what CQC will do with the information they share?

We would like to thank the following organisations for supporting us with this report, Little Miracles, The Children’s Centre, Linkage College, Lincoln YMCA Norfolk Street, Children’s Centre, and The Downright Awesome Community Centre.
