We are disappointed that Lakeside Healthcare in Stamford has been rated ‘requires improvement’ and subsequently will remain in ‘special measures’, following the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) latest inspection. (The inspection took place in March and the report was published in June 2022)

We do welcome the report which highlights a significant amount of work to improve the service has taken place. However, Healthwatch still continue to hear concerns from patients in Stamford in relation to an inability to get through on the phone to access an appointment or call back. Many people who have contacted us still feel the practice are not providing adequate health care provision to the patients in Stamford.

The recent publication of the GP Patient survey highlights these concerns with only 14% finding it easy to get through to this GP practice by phone compared with the ICS result: 54% and National result: 53%

We would like to assure patients that the NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board are working with the Lakeside Healthcare in Stamford to address these concerns and assure patient safety and we welcome an update ahead of the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) follow up inspection.
